Position overview
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Quality & Service Engineer to join our growing team. This new role is designed to support and strengthen our operational capacity amidst increasing service demands. The ideal candidate will help consolidate service-related activities, enhance quality assurance in service workflows, and offer relief across operational and technical functions. You’ll be part of our Operations team and support our Technical team when appropriate.
1.2 Responsibilities
Customer Support & Service Operations
- Handle incoming service calls either by managing cases directly or dispatching them to team members.
- Manage the support mailbox and serve as the first point of contact for customer issues.
- Document and process deviations, complaints, and service orders.
- Coordinate device returns and related logistics.
- Conduct inspection, investigation, and (when applicable) repair of returned devices in consultation with technical leads.
- Execute rework and refurbishment actions as needed.
- Maintain and update device history records and service logs.
Service Program Development & Execution
- Contribute to the setup and execution of structured service agreements with commercial partners.
- Provide training and support as part of partner service enablement.
- Assist in defining, managing, and optimizing outsourced service operations.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure service activities are documented and performed in accordance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the service and quality domains.
2. Profile
Must have
- You have a knack for technology and enjoy rolling up your sleeves, but you're equally comfortable with accurate documentation and maintaining high-quality records.
- Excellent communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
- 2+ years of experience in a technical support, service engineering, or quality-related role in a regulated environment (medical devices preferred).
- Comfortable working in English and Dutch in an international setting.
- You have completed a technical MBO-4 or HBO degree, preferably in (bio)medical technology, mechatronics, or a related field. More important than your exact diploma is your combination of technical insight and a structured, accurate way of working.
Nice to have
- Background in device refurbishment, repairs, or engineering investigations.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other medical device regulations
- Experience with complaint handling, deviation management, and CAPA processes.
